A big "thank you" to competitors for coming in such numbers and
from so far away, of all ages and from so many different countries.
We're currently reflecting on what worked and what didn't, in case
we hold the event again. Planners and controllers are looking at the
times of class winners (and of those at the bottom of the results).
Was the idea of using two distinct geographical areas a good one ?
Should we limit entry numbers ? Were entry fees and deadlines
appropriate ? Was the organisers' T-shirt the right shade of red ?
Our apologies for the queue at sportident download on days 1 and 2,
caused not by a lack of equipment but by the burden of additional
information given on the split times printout. Apologies also to
competitors in the D7O class on day 4 where the course was far
Wondering why there are no overall results ?
FFCO rules prevent us from providing overall results for the five days :
if a french club wants to hold a multiday event with cumulative results
it has to apply 2 years in advance and have qualified national level
planners and controllers, plus national race referees and event advisors
imposed from above. The rule is designed to ensure that a multiday
event attracting runners from abroad is of good quality. The four small
clubs involved in the organisation only came up with the idea last year,
and our planners and controllers are mostly beginners with only a
regional qualification. We hope the quality was there all the same.
